Mark Lindsay Just Like Me Kicks Hungry Tony Orlando Show 1979
How did these band members avoid the draft in the 1960's for Vietnam ??
Great seeing MARK LINDSAY..
The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour had the best sketches - bar none! They were known for being very respectful of their guest celebrities and included them in the sketches to the degree they felt comfortable participating. Not all of the bands wanted to do anything more than play their songs, and that was fine, but Paul Revere and the Raiders were up for it all and the writers as well as performers and especially the audience had a great time as a result! Thank you for posting!
George Segal is off the hook in this sketch. There's no such thing as a bad George Segal movie.
Revere was more concerned with slapstick than music, although he handled the business side of things. He was bored after the late sixties….just going through the motions… you could see it in their appearances.
I find it sad that the old Raiders do not generate the "retro" kind of excitement as the Monkees. There must be reason. Power of prime time network TV of the time I guess. I love calling up the old Dick Clark shows with Mark Lindsay. I'm disappointed his star faded. Also very disappointed that he did not keep a genial relationship with "Paul Revere." Had something to do with money I guess, not surprising. Lindsay and Revere had such chemistry when they were together. Revere did nothing significant artistically with the group after he and Lindsay split.
Lucky lady
Hungry is almost a heavy metal prototype
Used to go to Hollywood palace to see you guys good times
Been watching you since I was 13 now I’m 69 lol crazy
Mark is still Sexy to me
Love this guy...
I love Mark Lindsay and Peter.
Lucky lady♥️👍😁
Mark Lindsay with the Chesterfield Kings a few years ago. Great recording.
i've always believed groups like these and most AM American bands of the era are not in the Hall because the records were made with studio musicians like the Wrecking Crew.
Nice shirt!! MARK FABULOUS AS ALWAYS
WOW!!!
Mark Lindsay looks FANTASTIC! Good show...
Mark Lindsay was FANTASTIC!!!
Sometimes Fang sings for the band but nobody could replace Mark Lindsay. He was the Raiders as far as I’m concerned.
Mark Lindsay is a great talent. Always will be.
All the artists sounded great... But Little Anthony & The Imperials, Just Wow! 👍
Did I ever have a crush on Mark Lindsay. In about '86 or '87 I saw Paul Revere minus Mark play at a county fair in Oregon. Even though Mark wasn't fronting they were still great fun to sea/hear.
Fantastic❤
love you Mark Lindsay 😍🚗🚗☎️
Thank you for your music all these years. Mark your wonderful singer great voice fan 10yr.
Wow
Wow. How time has flown😢
Mark said playing with the guys in these costumes was like playing with a bunch of clowns. Paul had wanted to incorporate comedy into their gigs from the git-go. Without further ado, here they are in 1964 (note: sound isn't so hot): ua-cam.com/video/2jM6ud38-9w/v-deo.html
Does anyone know where I can find the full clip of "Good Thing" with the snippet at about 2:35? Phenomenal! I've tried searching on UA-cam but the indexing is hard to navigate. Thanks in advance.
Could you put some on my front side too puleeze? 😂👍
Best song.
Was always a fan of Paul Revere and the Raiders, but, man, it’s time to give it up. He butchered this great song.
I'd love to know why this band broke up ? Was it Mark ? Did he really want to go Solo ? Their could have been jealousy
Mark Landsat was a great singer the boys played all over and just got love them raiders.
Love the turtle s man 60s rocked the world they were great to
Tony Orlando show was in the 80s.
Music today is s%^&t rapping about rapeing girls kill people cuss violence
I loved the 60s music it was a good time to learn how play your favorite instrument.
Wipe it off on your jeans haha!
Congratulations No Lip Sync! This is Good And am saving!🤩
Hi Mark Are You the close up?
Yup
Thanks for the clarification . . . knew it was not 1979 like the caption says. Those are '80s hair styles --- shorter and too well groomed to be '79. Also, Mark Lindsay is about 45 there and looks just like he did when he taped the TV promos for the oldies shows in '87 or '88.
Still has the same energy all those years later
The problem was Lindsay wanted to sing all the Raider's songs as if they were his. They belonged to Paul. Mark should have only performed his own songs-- or wrote some new hits of his own-- that's the law. This version was weak compared to his performances with the Raiders
The problem? What problem. Most of their hits were written by other writers. Paul co-wrote Steppin' Out with Mark but that's it. Mark co-wrote with Terry Melcher and others on a few songs. Mark was the front man and made the band like Jagger with the Stones or Morrison with Doors. Paul Revere had almost zero talent. He could barely play keyboards as evidenced in later versions of the Raiders where there was a real keyboard player in the band and Paul's s Edsel looking keyboard actually only controlled on stage lighting. As far as the "the law" goes anyone can play their own version of a song as long as the writer or copyright owner is paid royalties. Bottom line is Mark Lindsay made these songs what they were and has every right to play them. He was the Raiders despite the actual band name.
Are paul revere and the raiders in the Hall... If not that is a true travesty.. they should have been a LONg time ago
Oh Howard Kaylan cut the crap we weren't all a bunch of drugged-out hippies. I was busy trying to go to school
Yeah, Howard took himself too seriously on this day. His self-inflated "Spokesman For The 60s" rang hollow, lame.
Great show!
This show was from June 21, 1993.
